International summer camp food & mealsJade showing off one of her freshly prepared meals

At Mountain Adventure Camps, we provide a home-from-home environment allowing the children to feel relaxed and comfortable during meal times.

Everything is homemade using fresh, local produce that provides essential nutrition and energy, following a 5-a-day philosophy.

We all know how fussy kids can be with food and meals and this can make things challenging, however, our kid friendly and healthy spin on things ensures that children come back for 2nds, 3rds or even 4ths!

Being a small camp, enables us to cater for different dietary requirements and specific children’s needs, such as allergies, meals can also be tailored for those that can be fussy eaters.

Meal times at camp are a great opportunity for the staff and children to interact, share learning’s and stories from the day and instil that very British thing; table manners.

We understand that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day and sets the children up for the busy day of activities ahead. Staff join the children at the large dining tables ensuring that each child has a substantial meal and starts the day feeling satisfied and invigorated.

Our buffet style breakfast consists of a selection of cereals, yoghurts, toast and preserves, fruit juices and fresh fruit (soya milk, yoghurts and spread can be provided for those with a lactose intolerance).

Lunch gives the children the opportunity to share and discuss what they have learnt in their daily language lesson and sports session, as well as try and work out what the afternoon’s adventure activity is. Staff help serve lunch ensuring that children don’t avoid the green stuff and can discuss any fears or reservations for those that may have concerns for the afternoons activity, providing reassurance and encouragement where necessary.

A different freshly made lunch is served each day based on a healthy balance diet of carbohydrates, protein and vegetables, served with plenty of refreshments ensuring that the children stay hydrated.
